Allspeeds Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 Done abit of cleaning up of said filler area and some measuring looking at the newton site I maybe able to salvage it just previous owner has trimmed the tank but I think there’s enough for a Newton 500 filler to get hold and seal with an OD of 139 mm 150mm would of ment I could drill fresh but 139mm is largest they do which is pretty much were the holes are now I think looking at drawings 2 Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 The other option is to do what MCS do with my race tanks they weld in a ring thats threaded so the filler just bolts on less faff and nice and strong base 1 Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 It would be interesting to see how much he’s cut out if someone has one to measure for me @clivegto Quote

Looks like origanl hole would be 90mm,the Spondon one is welded on. Quote
Allspeeds Posted December 14 Author Posted December 14 Thanks Clive so looking at that he’s lopped 10mm off my tank spoke to MCS he says it’s a doddle to sort Quote

Allspeeds Posted Wednesday at 08:27 AM Author Posted Wednesday at 08:27 AM Gathers up some proper sprocket studs as some twat had used threaded stainless bolts ffs thanks to @Deanofor these had replated and married up with some TI nuts another sub assembly done jobs slowly grinding to a halt now waiting on main chassis parts back crank cases are being painted over Xmas I believe, polishing will be back 2 nd week in January, and I’m calling for an update on frame today, once things are back though I reckon il have built up and rolling in a couple of hours I’ve already got new switch gear, throttle assembly, master cylinder etc from the spondon so it will look well on its way hopefully leaving me to concentrate on the engine building 3 Quote
Allspeeds Posted Wednesday at 09:02 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 09:02 PM Made a call today about my frame and it turns out it’s been ready since Friday but he miss placed my number anyway no dramas the owner lives at Tadcaster so he said I could collect from his which was a bonus saves me 2 hours driving it’s no secret I’m a fussy fucker but I don’t apologise for it and using a new company I was anxious about would it be any good it’s not an easy colour I wanted well luckily the frame is 99.5% bang on! Colour is right and the coverage is nice and even no patches it’s only marked down on a thump print in clear coat luckily in place you will never see and a tiniest spec of dust stuck in clear coat on a tube again not were you will see so I can live with it i will be sending side stand and engine mount plate back there patchy on the colour but I’m sure they will sort them 5 Quote
Allspeeds Posted Wednesday at 09:05 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 09:05 PM I also had them ceracote my rocker cover and happy with that and the colour one tiny little run on it but again I had to pull it apart to see it so il live with it 4 Quote
