Enjoythesilence Posted November 12 Posted November 12 Hi there,i think i know the answer but i just want confirmation before i start mucking about. Bought a gs850l that had been stood for 15+yrs,cleaned tank, rebuilt carbs(standard cv`s) etc, ticks over lovely but will not go past 4k revs. The only thing non standard is the end cans which had rotted so bunged a universal pair i had floating around which are less restrictive-is this my problem? cheers Quote
Enjoythesilence Posted November 12 Author Posted November 12 new air filter and i checked the atu, moves freely,my thinking is the freer(louder )end cans upsetting the mixture? Quote

Enjoythesilence Posted November 14 Author Posted November 14 Problem solved,my mate(who works in a bike shop-no names) who set up the carbs for the other mate i bought it off,did float heights with the float bowl gaskets in .he never rode it to test,it worked so he left it. Stripped them out,set them with the proper heights and now it revs out as its supposed to. I had forgotten how bad the brakes were from back then, spoiled with me blandit nissin 4 pots. Quote
