EFE Cylinder Head removal

Just a quick one - can you remove the cylinder head off an 1100efe with the engine still in the frame? Looks like you should be able to, but figured I'd ask first... Cheers

Good idea, much as I like to think it'll all go smoothly, there's always something...

 

I'll be having a go this weekend all being well, see what's lurking in there

Mine was tight on the raised rib on the inside of the headstock reinforcement & the front of the camchain tunnel casting on the front of the head. There is quite a bit of slack in the engine mounts so depending on where it landed when it was tightened up might make it tight to get it to clear - I slacked everything off & managed to get it to clear ok. Not a bad job to be fair, getting the barrel back on in situ with a 1230 kit…not quite so easy!

Good to know, cheers. Reminds me actually, mine is missing the rear upper engine mount at the minute - another job to add to the list!
