Joseph Posted November 26, 2023 Posted November 26, 2023 Hi Long shot, but does anyone have a photo of the ignition system on an RK ? The engines have differences compared to a regular 750 but did they and if so why change the ignition setup behind the cover ? Thanks Quote
gsxr884 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I don't think they changed the ignition set up , they relocated the oil pressure switch from behind the cover so they could use a chamfered cover for better ground clearance Quote
gsxr884 Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The RK engine is an updated Long Stroke 749 (slabby)rather than the short stroke 748 used in the J/K Slingshots Quote
Upshotknothole Posted January 30 Posted January 30 The Yosh ignition covers also remove the oil pressure sender from there. Quote
Joseph Posted January 31 Author Posted January 31 Indeed that chamfer deal. However it's funny because the ignition pick up plate is the same part number for absolutely every single oil cooled bike from 1985 to 2008, except the RK. Maybe it's made of alloy or something ? Didn't hear back from the guy who bought one of my adjustable plates so i'm guessing it fitted fine 1 Quote
