E T Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 (edited) I was talking to guy that drag races air cooled suzukis and asked him about buttons for pressure plate ( i was gathering lock up parts for my et ) he uses counter sunk stainless screws, just drill and tap plate and locktight them in, he said he had never had a problem and if they wear are eaily replaced. Arttu Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 Without buttons the arms will eat some grooves on the pressure plate. But that doesn't happen very quickly so it won't do any dramatic harm if you try it without the buttons. I have turned buttons that are threaded in to the plate. What you are planning to do with the bike? If you use the lock up only for preventing clutch slip then the simplest version works just fine. 2 Quote
Gixer1460 Posted August 15, 2023 Posted August 15, 2023 I had aluminium buttons fitted into a GSXR 4 arm hat - the arms wore a slight groove in each button after many years of turbo & nitrous abuse! Don't think mine were threaded, probably friction fit and LARGE press! 1 Quote
