Katana Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Yea thats what I have had my Katana had same on my GSXR work great ask Rich884 for a price Quote
Guest Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have used ramair foam fiters on a quite few bikes now & found them easier to tune than the K&N or similar, not tried the socks over stock intakes though just the ones that bolt on like any other filter Quote

Funkymonkracing Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 That`s what I`ve done on my race 1100 and am doing on the second one 1 Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I've had really problem trying get custom filters made so if you can get something off shelf happy days Quote
Gsexr Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 so the ram air filter,s are better than K N duel pod,s ? i am about to fit some flatside,s to a 1100 slabby...... and the dyno man said k n,s is the best way forward ? confused.com now. Quote
gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Leon Moss RIP of LeDAR would only use Ramair filters , using the std airbox rubbers inside the socks or twin pods for Slingshot carbs saves a lot of fabricating bell mouths , that's what I will be doing to my FCR39s inside a pressurised airbox on my RR Quote
gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 top bloke to right , I so nearly went to work for him when I left the RAF in 1990, he died in a tragic car accident that summer , I used to spend hours in his workshop helping him, I still miss his dry wit all these years later and boy did he know a thing or two about carbs exhausts and as he would call it the "infernal combustion engine" Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Im using original rubber stacks on fcr 39s in carbon airbox I made with biggest flat panel k and n filter i could find. You cannot beat an airbox Quote

gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 You finished that airbox then?had the airbox for years but damaged it during an emergency stop in my Transit when everything slid forward , it will be getting sorted soon, tempted to use a big flat panel Pipercross universal sheet filter and make mounts inside the airbox for it , new job on the horizon which will have me at home working for myself so I should have some spare time Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 I have tried get some material off piper cross they really not being helpful makes me think everything made in China now. Quote
gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 looks like they have stopped making what I was going to use , its not on the website anymore , ally plate with 4 holes in and 1 big rounded filter that would trick the engine into thinking it had an airbox fitted bugger Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 They were quite helpful until they did not have size I wanted, then could not help, repeatedly asked for material to make my own they just stopped communication????? Quote
gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 looks like Ramair come up trumps again, this is the sort of universal thing I was /am looking at making to fit FCRs/RSs and BST 36/38s http://ramair-filters.co.uk/rt-carb-filters/rt3-twin-carburettor-bolt-on-air-filter-with-blank-baseplate.html Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Do they do flat panel stuff, do you have to oil the filter. Quote
jonny1bump Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 Is yours all finished now, have you pictures.im on my last set of carbon panels. Quote
gsxr884 Posted July 6, 2015 Posted July 6, 2015 no , bodywork is done , just need to finish wiring the K3 clocks and mount them, make a bracket for the 2nd oil cooler , finish the rear caliper hanger/torque arm but my garage is so full I don't want to risk fitting the bodywork as the paint cost me £900 so it will wait until we move house, hopefully this year, looing for something with a barn or outbuildings ar at least space to build a workshop at least the size of 5 garages . jonny1bump Posted July 7, 2015 Posted July 7, 2015 Getting there then, sounds look forward to seeing that in action Quote
