Kevref Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Hi guys rebuild time on my 77 gs750. When installing the gear selector rods, does it matter where on the selector drum the location pins go? ( arrowwd here in the pic) or can they locate within the drum location slots anywhere? Quote
wraith Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Yes, RTFM They wil only work in the right place, it looks right from what I can tell on your pic but check the manual Quote
Kevref Posted February 13, 2022 Author Posted February 13, 2022 (edited) Thanks thats a pic of before I took them out . Will replace in same position Edited February 13, 2022 by Kevref Quote
TonyGee Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 I put the selector drum in the neutral position first, then drop the gears in, when you put the crankcases together then check all the gears are their before you go any further 1 Quote
Kevref Posted February 13, 2022 Author Posted February 13, 2022 Thanks Tony neutral is when the dimple on the selector drum locates on the plunger rod yes? Quote

Swiss Toni Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 Neutral is when plunger is in selector drum detent. Move gears to neutral position also. Be careful selector forks engage in tracks on gear train when mating cases. DONT FORCE ANYTHING!If cases hang up, see what’s wrong. As Tony says, check you’ve got all gears, and crank revolves when cases together. Bolt up, and check again. 1 Quote
