Kevref Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 Has anyone built their GS cylinders crankcases etc in a satin black ? If so did you have them stove enamelled or sprayed? If sprayed which one did you use ? I have tried VHT barrel spray in satin but its too gloss Quote
coombehouse Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 I have used this stuff many times but thinned it & spayed on with a spray gun. It's very good, fuel & heat resistant & a satin finish. Almost no gloss at all. 2 Quote

Neil-IOM Posted January 25, 2022 Posted January 25, 2022 I used PJ1 satin black in rattle cans on my gs1000 motor twenty years ago and have used nothing else since. ive had no flaking or lost paint in all those years but it has dulled a little . Good prep is the answer, got to be good and clean. I degreased and steam cleaned my complete lump thoroughly after carefully plugging all the obvious places. Outer cases were then removed and polished and refitted. 1 Quote

Yeah Granville is good stuff, though have always brushed it on (good quality brush) Definitely going to be trying the spray gun route though next time 2 Quote
