Phill106 Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) Im having problem after problem with these dam carbs. Got them back on the engine at last and on start up there is fuel coming out of the main air jet hole on the front of the carb? Not sure how. Maybe the jet hasn't seated correctly? Help :( Edited November 30, 2015 by Phill106 Quote
boilerdude Posted December 1, 2015 Posted December 1, 2015 you sure the float assys and all the orings are installed correctly? for example there is an oring that looks like it could fit perfectly in where the needle plug goes to help it seal correctly. But actually that oring goes over top of the thing. You just drop the plug in first. then the oring just helps to seal the thingy onto the other thingy.. Quote
Rene EFE Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Floatheight + seal is to be checked first Quote
Ben Slabby Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 As above, check the o-ring on the float valve brass body where it fits into the carb. Also float height and valve tips for wear. Quote
wraith Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 If these carbs dont have fuel going in them the O-rings can/do fu*k up and start pissing fuel all over the place, had the same problem with some 38mm carbs had them on the bench for 6 months then gave them a good clean put them on the bike and had a floor full of fuel when I started the bike. So o-rings on the brass bodys I'd say. Quote
Ben Slabby Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Yeah, they dry out and shrink/split. Crap, really. Quote
