Joseph Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) Hello The deal : K7 fork on '91 11R frame. I'm in the teething process of test rides to make sure it's all good. Obviously i fitted new taper roller bearings during the rebuild I have tightened it all up to what i believe is correct I still however have a clunky loose feel on the front end when i push the bike and brake ? yantosh Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 bearings may have settled and need adjusted (tightened)? bearing deff tight in the seat, not catching on a step on the stem? nut is clamping on bearing, not at the end of its thread? 1 Quote
MeanBean49 Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 Could also be the movement of the pads in the calipers and the discs on there bobbins Quote
Joseph Posted April 27, 2021 Author Posted April 27, 2021 Ok I will check both, i did give the bearings a bit of a tighten this weekend, it did improve but still a bit there so maybe the rest is the brakes as you describe @MeanBean49 Quote
TonyGee Posted April 27, 2021 Posted April 27, 2021 jack the front end of the bike up so the wheel is off the ground, grab hold of the bottom of the forks and rock back and forth. if you here/feel any movement then adjust till its gone, then turn the bars from lock to lock to make sure everything is smooth.
