dirky Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Hi ive just taken the head off a slingshot 1100 engine I brought last summer. I had noticed the head was slightly off centre. Turns out the locating pins are missing as the bores have been enlarged so the pins won’t fit. Bore size is 77 mm. Any clues on What have I brought here.. Quote

jameskat Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 As far as I am aware the 1052 should have 76mm pistons as standard, 1127 should have 78mm pistons as standard, 1156 should have 79mm pistons as standard. Quote
dirky Posted April 21, 2021 Author Posted April 21, 2021 re-measured at 78mm so standard 1127 . never seen a head with d shape dowels. thats what threw me. finish stripping and get it down the cleaners. cheers for the advice. wheres the best place to go for a full gasket kit. any recommendations Quote
Gixer1460 Posted April 22, 2021 Posted April 22, 2021 All of the GSXR type engines had D dowels, changed from the tube type used in the GSX family. If you can afford it a Cometic gasket set is worth paying for but get OEM oil drain tube O rings - use nothing else! Any of the decent tuners / engine builders should be able to source quality gaskets. Quote
