  2. Hi I am havivg the frame on my slingshot powdercoated. What colour do people use. Is there a RAL colour code for the colour of the standard anodized frame. Cheers for any info
  3. cheers for the feedback will the oilcooled motors still drop into this easily
  4. Morning brought this as a spare slingy frame but it needs to go and looking at it has me wondering. Is it slingy or first year watercooled. Everything looks right except for the thread in the frame on the end of the swingarm mount. Did this appear on the last oil cooled bikes or only after they changed. Cheers
  5. Cheers. Motor in the blasters now. Will post up pics
  6. re-measured at 78mm so standard 1127 . never seen a head with d shape dowels. thats what threw me. finish stripping and get it down the cleaners. cheers for the advice. wheres the best place to go for a full gasket kit. any recommendations
  7. I found a pic of a slingy barrel on the net with round dowels but I’ve now found another with d shaped so looks like it’s standard. Good news
  8. It has 1127 on side of barrels. Not looking for a special. Just hoping I haven’t brought a lemon.
  9. Hi ive just taken the head off a slingshot 1100 engine I brought last summer. I had noticed the head was slightly off centre. Turns out the locating pins are missing as the bores have been enlarged so the pins won’t fit. Bore size is 77 mm. Any clues on What have I brought here..
  10. Might be sorted. Found a 290 lurking around
  11. Hi Need help figuring this out. Frame as far as I know is a 89. 750. So are the arm and linkage. Mocking up with a bandit shock. 320mm eye to eye centre. It’s pushing the linkage right down so much too big but when I set the arm at a better angle and put the tape across it I’m getting 290 I thought the standard shock was 319. Can anyone see where I’m going wrong. Cheers

    slingy fairings

thanks for clearing that up. ii have a 750 frame and 1100 sides. plus bellypan. will the 1100 fairing bolt up to the 750 frame? not worth looking for 1100 upper if it wont
  14. hi is there any info available on compatability of parts for slingy front fairings. i know the shape changed over the years but do the fastenings and edges line up. cant find anything in the search or googling. cheers for any info.
  15. hi get a wiring diagram. one of the wires from the black box will go out and circle round all the safety gubbins, side stand ,levers ect. find it at the black box and make sure they connected it to earth. if not there proberbly still hooked up.
  16. Just brought a bandit 12 and by the time I had it out the van I decided the frame had to go. Much too heavy. Slingshot frame is the way I’m going. Light enough for old dolled like me to pick back up without a hernia.
  17. thanks for posting that up. had no chance to pull all the shed out to get at the 600 motor to be sure yet.
  18. Brilliant. cheers for that
  19. Thanks for replies just to confirm. I’m ok to get any year 1052 clutch but it has to be 1100 to match the crank gear is that right
  20. hi read throught frankenstiens stuff and used the search but cant find what i need. are the slabside clutches all the same or at least interchangable. different part numbers. do the 750 and 1100 use the same clutch. much to learn on this newfangled oilcooled stuff. cheers
  21. just found ive burried the teapot behind all my projects. will try to get it dug out this afternoon looked at a pic for a 88 600 on that selling site and it,s 68 tooth so looking hopefull
  22. Cheers will get the 600 apart after work and check it out. Photos to follow.
  23. hi picked up a u703 1052 motor. needs quite a few bottom end parts. been reading through frankenstiens engine guide and he isnt sure but thinks the 1052 might have used the same starter as the 750 and 600. possible good news as i have a clean 1988 teapot engine i already plan on nicking the casings off. can anyone confirm this ? also the j model 1052 has a starter clutch which on the fiche looks identical to the teapot. anyone know if it,s interchangable before i pull the 600 apart to see. doubt i,m that lucky. cheers
  24. just when i had stopped looking one popped up on that site. all good stuff. even managed to persuade the missis it,s too cold in the shed so it,s a front room build. pics when i get enough to build
  25. cheers. i can see me using that site a lot. usefull stuff.
