Slabby 7/11 K-wheel fitment question

Hi all,

I’m building an ‘85 slabby with GSXR600/750 K7 front fork and wheels. The front was an easy swap but the rear is a bit more complicated.

I fitted the K10 wheel from my 1100EF and that’s already a bit more to the left than the original K7 wheel but still not enough... It still has to move a few more mm’s to the left.

I still want to use the original rear swingarm so changing that isn’t an option.

Is there anyone around here who fitted 600/750 (5.5J) K-wheels into an slabby before?

Some pictures would be appreciated.

K7 600 on slingshot is a bit tricky (replaced the sprocket studs by hex head screws to avoid contact with the chain adjuster), i'm guessing that with the narrower rear rim of the slabby it's not going to be easy

There is difference on types of K-wheels. I know that when fitting a K1-2-3 wheel (5,5) it requires some milling off the back of the chain sprocket carrier. Have you used the search yet?

It took my father some hours behind the lathe but the K7 wheel finally sits in the middle of the swingarm...

I had one K9 wheel in my 1100EF with slingshot swingarm and expected that wheel to be in the middle since it was in the middle in the 1100. It wasn't the case...

On the inside of the carrier it's a bit shorter now and on the outside all the material around the seal was milled away. The whole wheel had to move 12mm further to the left but now it finally sits right in the middle.

Rear sprocket carrier moved also a few mm to the left but fortunately the front sprocket is still on the splines. Have to move it 3/4mm to the left but there's just enough room on the splines for that. Since the chain moved more to the left there was plenty of room to fit a bigger tyre. I've fitted now an 180/60 instead of an 180/55 and it looks way better (fatter)

Turn the back sprocket round that'll give you 2mm if you run out of splines on the front. Or remove the sprocket bolts on the carrier then remove a mil or so on the carrier surface. I did this when fitting a gsxr1000k9 wheel.

Turning the rear sprocket worked fine. Needed the front sprocket only 4mm further to the outside.

I ordered the front sprocket (525) from an Gurls blouse Transalp, has 4/5mm offset from factory. So it all fits now fine and in line.
