Detrailers Posted June 9, 2020 Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) My question of the day gents. 82 GS1100E - mostly original, but has a horrible old Kerker pipe that I'm ditching for a Delkevik, and it has pod air filters, was thinking of going back to stock airbox, but since it already piped Im going to do some K&Ns, and ditch the ugly pod filters on it now. currently mains are 130 and pilots are 45s. should I leave or change those to different sizes. Plugs are dark, but not sooty... Edited June 10, 2020 by Detrailers 1 Quote

Captn Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 @Detrailershave a spot on the mid pipe to weld in an O2 sensor bung? Ideally 4 to 5 inches from the header collector. Install a wideband sensor and controller to help verify effectiveness of jet changes. The "seat of the pants" method is not too precise and dyno runs can be expensive. You can get great feedback from an O2 readout. Of course if you have the bucks a dyno run is best. 1 Quote

Detrailers Posted July 1, 2020 Author Posted July 1, 2020 Couldnt fine stock jetting sizes but fuel was horrible...looked like coffee. Ultrasonic'd the carbs and put on new filters, plugs and exhaust. Starts and idles great, bolt check today and taking it out for road test. Bike will be for sale soon 1 Quote
