Blaqryder Posted December 5, 2019 Posted December 5, 2019 Anyone have any instructions on how to do this? I`m getting ready to buy a set of RS38 carbs and want to convert the bellcrank to the left side. I have seen the shaft for this but no instructions? Quote
Blubber Posted December 6, 2019 Posted December 6, 2019 Hello and Welcome to OSS. The people on here tend to share more information if they see who they are sharing it with and how its getting used. My tip ( free of charge ): Post a proper intro in the general section . 3 Quote
Dezza Posted December 7, 2019 Posted December 7, 2019 I recently had the throttle mechanism moved on my RSs to between 3 and 4. No new parts needed. To have the mechanism on the left requires new parts, available from specialists. I suggest you send them to a somewhere such as Allens as splitting the bank and thus the throttle tube requires the removal of several pressed in small roll pins and a lot of other faffing around. A specialist will have the correct tools for this. Unless there is a very good reason to shift the mechanism it's not really worth the hassle. And yes, not posting a general introduction winds a lot of people up on here so we all want to see a picture of your bike and to know why the throttle mechanisms needs moving 1 Quote
WeirdJimmy Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 It's not hard. Buy the left side linkage shaft, tap out the drift pins, slide the shaft out, unbolt the bell crank and move it over to the end, re-bolt it to the end, slide the new shaft in, and tap the drift pins back in. It's childs play compared to some of the stuff I see yall doing on here. I've done it to all 4 sets I have. The only one that made me a little nervous was the brand new rack. Nothing like spending a couple weeks pay on smething then taking a hammer to it LOL Quote
WeirdJimmy Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 Best mod I've ever done. Easy access to cables, on the fly idle adjustment, and super cool looking At one time you could buy them with the side shaft already installed from the factory but they stopped doing that a long time ago. The first time you work on your carbs afterwards will blow your mind. I can remove the carbs in about 3 minutes .. without ever taking off the tank! Quote
WeirdJimmy Posted August 11, 2021 Posted August 11, 2021 For oil cooled Suzuki (spaced 77-93-77) Mikuni P/N : 700-17012 Sudco P/N : 002-9005 That's the only part you need to buy Quote
