Stevemilne750 Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Just bought a 91 gsx 1100 powerscreen engine for my gs 750 frame/project. What's the difference with the gsx 1100 power screen and the gsxr 1100 engine and what carbs should I use. Heard it was a slightly detuned gsxr 1100 motor but not sure in which way. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Steve Quote
Rene EFE Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Helical primary instead of the straight one on a GSXR. Supposedly different cams and the stock carbs are 34cv's. Mine does 135Whp on 2 separate dynos with 36cvs and a racepipe. Quote
Stevemilne750 Posted September 17, 2019 Author Posted September 17, 2019 Thanks that's plenty bhp for me just trying to get as much info as possible as this is my first build. So far got 77 GS 750 frame, bandit 12 swingarm,91 gsx 1100 engine just got to sort out wheels front end, carbs trial fit then I,ll start putting it together. Quote
Rene EFE Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Make sure you have the rubbers to go with the carbs to save you endless headache Quote
wraith Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Grate motor, as above with the primary drive. They have a spring clutch instead of a diaphragm clutch, been told cams are the same part number as the gsxr1100k. gsxr1100 or b12 36mm carbs will work well with this engine but as @Rene EFEsays, get the carb rubber for the type of carb you're going to use.I You can use any of the big oil cooled zorst on them gsxr/b12 or gsx1100f or gsxr1000k1 k2 but you may need to make some zorst port spacers for the gsxr1000 zorst as it's going in a gs frame. I'm running gsxr750 38mm carbs on my gsx1100f (power screen) that's in my kat , a bit more work setting them up and harder to find but they do give a good result. Quote
