  1. Ive done a bit searching as to looking for an easy rear shock swap for my mk1 bandit 1200 and seems that the k7 k8 gsxr 1000 sounds like a fairly easy swap with just some washers for spacers needed. Has anyone done this and if so is there a noticeable difference in handling
  2. Put some fresh fuel in it last weekend and it just turned over and wouldnt start i came home from work today Friday evening and turned it over fired up after 30 seconds or so and ran pretty good took it for a quick run first time on a bandit 12 what a hoot i was going to mot it and sell it but think i, ll hold on to it for summer and see how i get on with it.
  3. Im p Worth a try as far as i know its stock carbs. Im not great with carbs just how do i check needles or imulsion tubes for wear? Thanks
  4. The last owner did say to me he thought it was a float valve problem i, ll have a look at those seals thanks. Only done 29k
  5. Pulled the carbs off today and they look clean and they have recently been rebuilt new jets ect Gave them a blast of air and carb cleaner back on the bike and runs exactly the same. No idea what the problem is.
  6. Is this suff not similar to the yamaha stuff got recommended this from someone but never heard of it.
  7. Hello folks been away from suzukis for a while bought my self a 97 bandit 1200 s at the weekend no mot and requiring carb work its been sat of the road forv3yrs so might just need carbs cleaned again but the guy said he rekons it needs float needles. I thought maybe imulsion tubes not stripped the carbs yet the symtoms are takes ages to start from cold once it does it runs rough then eventually clears and idles ok and will then start fine but if you try and ride it it bogs down when you open throttle and conks out sometimes. Does this sound like float valves or imulsion tubes symptoms? Possibly just in need of a strip and clean. Cheers Steve
  8. Yeah I just picked it up today and those photos were sent to me before I bought it. It's actually not as bad as it looks in photos so I reckon we'll worth it.
  9. Can this damage be repaired or not I know the large dent should be easy enough not sure about the other dent. Getting the tank for £20 so I thought worth a shot.
  10. You get mounts off ebbay for the gs not sure if there any use?.
  11. That looks awesome got me thinking now. Is it much work for this arm to fit the gs 750 frame.
  12. My thinking was the standerd skinny swingarm wouldn't be great with the extra power I, ll be adding. H
  13. Thanks for that exact info I was after. Cheers
  14. The engine arrived today 91 gsx 1100 power screen need to sort some mounting brackets next. It's really clean for a 91 motor think I, ll just degrease and give it fresh paint.
  15. Managed to make a start at the wknd with the GS 750 project test fitted the Bandit 12 swingarm obviously need spacers but not sure what swingarm bolt or bearings I will need to fit it. Not decided whether to go twin shock or single yet so got that to figure out later.
  16. Thanks that's plenty bhp for me just trying to get as much info as possible as this is my first build. So far got 77 GS 750 frame, bandit 12 swingarm,91 gsx 1100 engine just got to sort out wheels front end, carbs trial fit then I,ll start putting it together.
  17. Just bought a 91 gsx 1100 powerscreen engine for my gs 750 frame/project. What's the difference with the gsx 1100 power screen and the gsxr 1100 engine and what carbs should I use. Heard it was a slightly detuned gsxr 1100 motor but not sure in which way. Any advice appreciated. Cheers Steve
  18. Anyone happen to no the size of spacers needed to fit a bandit 1200 swingarm onto a 77 GS 750 frame. I see the pillion passenger footpeg hangers will need cut off. But not had a chance to do a trial fit yet and get some measurements. Cheers
  19. Cheers yes was the oil cooled I was looking at.
  20. Anyone no if the bandit 650 engine is the same as 600 other than the obvious? Just considering fitting one to my 77 GS 750 frame.
  21. I'm possibly looking for a 750 engine if it's up for grabs
  22. Was thinking of doing that if I could get a hold of a complete head get the barrels rebored new pistons and rings and the rest of the engine just needs a good clean/degrease as when I opened it up it does seem like a fairly basic engine to work on.
  23. Well this is what I'm up against.Got a day off so split the engine to see what's what. Was seized in 2 cylinders the other 2 look ok. Think I,ll just go look for a new engine and break this one for parts.
