FJD Posted January 25, 2016 Posted January 25, 2016 sounds alright now, i know your feeligs: "sounds too good to be true"...but you will find out either way. When the engine is right, you are able to find out the rattle then in the other one Quote

I suspect they do make a difference. I'm of the same mind as you @Gammaboy , I was looking at their position and had a feeling they were linked to frame flex. I'm going to frabricate some out of 1/4" ally, to be on the safe side and to fix my fairing bracket onto. Also its another skill to practice . Next job after the engine brackets is to rip apart the old motor and take a look inside. That will be worth pictures . As for the bracket I'm Quote

badgerkdd Posted January 31, 2016 Author Posted January 31, 2016 (edited) So brackets are made but I couldn't get photobucket to upload my pics. Now it has, so here's a few. New engine in frame, but no bosses for frame braces. old engine with bosses... plates cut and old bracket for reference.. heating plates to 80/ 100 degC prior to bending... bending..... bent, cleaned, laquer sprayed now drying..... fitted ..... next job, fit the fairing brackets!
