caferacerdan Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 So after shortening a standard b12 loom and throwing it on the bike I have run into an issue with getting no spark Bike turns over ok though Things I have checked: It turns over so that eliminates killswitch and clutch/sidestand switch (both of which I bypassed anyway) Getting 12v to the O/W coil wire Magnet and resistance on pickup sensor is good Tried 2 cdis and 2 lots of coils both of which measured ok on ohms Any ideas? Captain Chaos Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 resistor in the ignition lock? http://oldskoolsuzuki.info/archives/2515 2 Quote
Blubber Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Resistor would be my first try too. And I am pretty sure that: - the side stand switch ( in combination with the gears) and the kill switch.... Both kill the ignition. - Clutch switch prevents the starter motor from turning whilst pressing the starter motor. Please correct me if wrong. Its been a while since I worked on a Bandit 1 Quote

caferacerdan Posted June 1, 2019 Author Posted June 1, 2019 Checked ignition and resistor is present and reading 99 ohms(not quite 100 but close enough). Sidestand and clutch switch I straight wired the wires together to bypass Was in neutral and neutral switch works as light is showing up on dash Quote
Blubber Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 - Does it have a tip over sensor? I know of people whom fitted these up side down. Quote
Captain Chaos Posted June 2, 2019 Posted June 2, 2019 did you refill smoke after shortening the loom? 6 Quote
caferacerdan Posted June 2, 2019 Author Posted June 2, 2019 no tip over sensor and luckily no smoke either! just no spark Quote
richyrich Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Where did you shorten it , triple check all those wire colours match, all the circuits still made, Is there volts going into coil , tell us how it goes Quote
