fastlab Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 Hey all new member here with a 78 GS750E. Lots of work done to her and the modifications keep on going as i plan to drag race it here in ohio. Some people dislike it but most people love it and can hardly take it anywhere without people asking about it. Anyways i currently have a Vance and Hines street exhaust that goes under the chassis. However being a drag bike it is very low to the ground and would much rather have a Vance and Hines Pro pipe that goes out to the side on the right and down the bike. I cannot find anywhere on the site that says it will fit my year GS750. I Only can find ones that fit GS1000 and 1100. Can anyone confirm they will bolt on? 5 Quote
Swiss Toni Posted March 30, 2019 Posted March 30, 2019 Hey! Welcome to OSS! I also have a '78 750EC. Great bike! Quote
Gpz1100_Convert Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 I thought the port spacing was the same. so that makes it likely. whether the collects match though.. less sure. Have you tried contacting them by email and asking? Mark Quote
BigT Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Port spacing should be the same. You'll probably have to fab up a rear hanger Quote
fastlab Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 (edited) Rear hanger shouldn't be too big of a deal to fab up but am hoping the exhaust manifold bolts right on. was hoping someone had already achieved this since id like more ground clearance without raising the bike. tried contacting them via email and no answer. Sheep Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 V+H website says the pipe for the GS1000 will fit a 750 but only states for models from 1980-83....is there any difference from 78-80?? Quote
Reinhoud Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 750's and 1000's usually use the same exhausts, on a 750 the exhaust hangs a bit lower because the exhausts are designed to fit a 1000 (these engines have a longer stroke, and therefor are a bit higher) Quote
fastlab Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 sounds like it may work out then! wish someone could confirm this works before spending 500 bucks on it! Quote
Reinhoud Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 (edited) If it fits a GS1000, it'll fit a GS750, again, it will hang a bit lower as on a 1000. Edited April 10, 2019 by Reinhoud Quote
