We just got in from the weekend.....

I would like to firstly say big thanks to Katana Dave for sorting the food and doing it all...awesome ta man... x

Well, weather was a bit crap to start with and I was proper fed up as I though the weeknd was gonna be a washout...

It banged it down and the Sausage bus was deployed as OSS dry camp... until the sun came out to play a bit..

It was great to see everyone and we got some track time and I hope everyone had a great time

    Highlights for me....

    1. Seeing everyone who had made the effort to be there

    2. Bike eventually passing noise testing (107Db but NOT as bad as JBs 114!!!!!!!)

    3. A better than James Whitham wheelie pic over the mountain which will hopefully arrive soon...

    4. Passing some bigtime Charlie racer types and hanging on to some quick boys for a while

    5. Being behind some bigtime Charlie fast lads when the oil filter fell off and left a trail of oil and a smoke screen at about 120mph

    6. RSVFletch (Steve) getting an award from Practical Sportsbike for "Bike of the meeting".... awesome silverware for him (us!!)

    7. Paying £10 for Lasagne and chips and a coffee for Mrs Yosh....!!! Love ya darling x

    8. The bikes....

    9. Passing Grumpy Gary on his Kat ...he doesn't do bends

    10. Smiles....

I really hope folk had a good time,

    Thank you

    YJ

    :D

My slabbie failed at 119Db but passed with the baffle in lol:tu

Got them on mine, had no problem fitting them on the frame however needed to modify the underneath of the tank then get it repainted under there afterwards.

If I did it again I'd try the mini ones if you can still get them?

Thanks for the info,if I'd realised the coils were that much bigger would have bought mini ones as you suggest,oh well too late now so need to find a cunning way of fitting without to much drama:(

I mounted mine horizontally in the stock position with no mods other than bending a couple of bits of metal into brackets as you can only get one hole to line up on each coil. The leads don't foul the tank either. I did take a pic but I need to find it. I don't want to lift the tank off to take another.

This sounds like a good option don't really want to start modifying the tank if I can avoid it,if you can find that pic it would be good mate, not expecting you to start dismantling though :tu

  5. My slabby coils died recently so I managed to convince the boss, that I should replace them with a set a dyna coils and Taylor leads, purchased from grumpy1260.

I removed the tank today and after a short fight with the old screws holding the original coils managed to get the first coil off.

Opened the box with my new coils in and set about dry fitting just to check the fit was ok.

Then came the reason for the post:( recommended fit as per the instructions was followed but the buggers won't fit with the original fittings/spacers>:( whatever orientation I try they are either hard up against the frame or need extra spacers at which point the ht lead output fouls the underside of the tank.

Anyone else fitted dyna coils and found a cunning way of getting round this?

BIke is slabby 750H coils are Dyna Dc1-1

    Thanks

  6. I need to a comp test anyway so gives me a good excuse to check the plugs at the same time, probably going to check coils and leads before making any carb adjustments just in case its ignition/carb related:( any other suggestions/ideas are welcomed;)

  7. Rebuilt my slabby last year and had it running pretty fine, took it out yesterday in the heat and it developed a new problem.

Wouldn't tick-over when hot and stalled at every chance>:(, when I got it going again it misfired and wouldn't rev cleanly any ideas?

It has previously run perfectly during the cooler months

It's standard apart from exhaust, running VM29s with std airbox with KN replacement filter, carbs ultrasonically cleaned and repair kits fitted.

Which carbs / market bike? Doesn't sound like stock UK/JDM 86 750 with a vac tap.

If it is a vac problem the fuel tap will look like this  if it doesn't as @banoffee says it can't be stock so may be another problem not fuel flow/vac related, have you tried sticking it on prime and seeing if it runs ok??
