  1. H model battery box,it doesn’t list an alternative for F or G models but I can’t confirm this only the H as this is what I have on mine,I assume the G is the same?

  3. Back from Cadwell and another learning experience happy to have finished all the races I entered.

Its a great series full of mostly crazy older folk one guy is 72 with some crazy young uns to,we even run with the FP1 series with a cracking Gs Harris Mag 2 and some PM Kwaks, lovely to follow once they eventually pass you.

The 3 day weekend started good with dry weather forecast, a few minor adjustments to the carbs Thursday evening and the bike was running the best it ever has.Starts without choke from cold and revs and idles ok to.

All was good for the test day on the Friday running steady 2.08 laps just to get my head around a track I’ve never raced at.

Up early for timed practice on the Saturday morning bought the usual racer problems as I now realise must be normal with all who’ve done this before.

Out for the 12 minutes of practice for grid positions 1 lap in and the clutch starts slipping like mad so just grin and bear it and try to go as quick as I dare without killing anything, gets back in to find my transponders not working and I don’t have a time so start from the back of row 10 xD.

Drain the oil refill with new and keep the level as low as I can plus slacken the cable as much as I dare hoping to cure the issue.

On to the grid for race 1 hook the clutch up and get the best launch ever followed by going backwards to where I started with the same clutch issues, manage  to pick off a few folk on the brakes and finish 25.Thats moved me up the grid for the next race.

More messing with the clutch in between races and Saturday night makes sod all difference so decide to ride it as is,you pay your money you need to race.

Times now down to around 2.00 laps so go out for extra practice Sunday morning after walking the track with a beer the night before got some good input from some of the fast boys and put it to good use by cracking the 2 minute barrier in the session.

Now I have a idea of what to do and need to beat my closest rival on track.Who has already pipped me twice on the last lap in both races the day before.I’m up the grid 2 rows to 23 based on Saturdays finishes.

This series has some fast boys in it and getting in the top 20 is looking bloody impossible,so race face on have a plan stick to the fast boys in front of me and hit all my markers, keep breathing and do not lose concentration, have I mentioned the number of times you need to pissxD

Flag up red lights on then go,great hook up with more clutch slipping and I’m being overtaken already ,don’t get fazed ride the bike and take no prisoners9_9

Ride up the inside of 3 of them into coppice round the outside of 2 more at Charlie’s 2 then outbreak another at the end of Park, dive up the inside of 2 more at the gooseneck now I’ve caught the fast group, fucking hell this is great I’m laughing and talking to myself inside my helmet.Knees down toe sliders grinding on the deck didn’t think you could get a blandit this low.

Hang onto the fast lads for 2 laps then they pull the pin and I’m nearly crashing everywhere, need the signature and more experience so go back to the original plan, finish the race in 20th place and never drop out of the 1.58s.beat my rival by more than 12 seconds and fair play to him he comes to find me and shakes my hand what a top bloke.

I’m still aching and need to change the engine before the next race as the one in the bike is dog slow in a straight line.

Still buzzing roll on the next round.

  5. Back from the my first race of the season still buzzing :)

Entered the 4 Bandit challenge races and the newcomers race and managed to finish all without being last.

Took 3 seconds off my best lap time over the 2 days, now need to make some changes to the runt to get ready for Cadwell in 3 weeks time.Had a few challenges over the weekend getting the runt running ok but struggled through.Even saw 74bhp on the track dyno, must be my bulk slowing it down :D

A great bunch of racers at FPR made me feel welcome and looked after me and all my stupid questions xD

Big thanks to @Paulmfor the stickers and spare engine

  6. Carbs back on,started fine and ran up ok with no leaks:).Went to run it through the gears and you’ve guessed it ignition killed immediately.

Well 24 hours fault finding and traced corroded wires in the side stand circuit, the stand is deleted for the race bike but the closed loop wasn’t passing enough current to keep the relay working. All done with a big hand from my sparky son :tu

Tomorrows jobs are to bolt everything back on, and give it a general check over then sort all the race kit out ready for next weekend need to do it now as I’m away Monday to Thursday in Sweden with work.

Starting to get real nervous now and I’m sure I’ll spend my first ever race weekend just trying to get the bike setup and running ok,as I’ve not been able to test it yet.

I’ve got 5 races to get things working then 3 weeks until Cadwell,I’ll do a race report once I’ve recovered  9_9

  7. I’m happy to be corrected but I had this same issue a couple of years ago,the conclusion I came to was that the bolt was used on both GSXR 750 and 1100 from 85 onwards and other models into the water cooled era such as GSXR WP etc plus busa and GSXR 600  I used CNMSL parts fiches or alpha sports I remember it saying that the part was used on 20 odd models.

I reckon I’d buy the cheaper option as long as it quotes OEM part no 0910607009 :tu
