  1. I'd be looking to the cam chain tensioner before I took the head off too. Regarding the gasket, purely from a personal point of view, I'd be using a new oem head gasket.
  2. Do you intend to use the existing yokes? Or change to a complete new front end, which would possibly mean a stem swap in the new bottom yoke?
  3. Abit more done today, the seat unit fits better, but the rear crossmember of the subframe needs removing altogether, so more welding. Homemade clock brackets mount the clocks to the top yoke, b-king bars, TL1000 hugger and a fairing meant for a gsx1400 have been added too. The subframe is almost there, the seat doesn't quite fit right so that will need trimming to get it closer to the tank.
  4. Hopefully I'll get the subframe cut and shut finished tomorrow so it should fit and look better, although I do see what you mean.
  5. Been messing with this for a few months, it started off as a bare frame, I had a 600 engine in the depths of the shed too, so I got it to rolling chassis stage fairily easily and added the engine. I decided I wanted to build an unfaired streetbike, nothing too radical but hopefully make it look credible. The top yoke was drilled and some cheap bar clamps added, with a hefty spacer on the underside to keep it all secure. I soon decided the srad rear panels had to go, too bulky, but I wasn't sure what to replace them with. A mate has a gsxr1000k3 and the seat unit is a lot sleeker. So I sourced some chinese plastics to suit and an oem tail light. Modified GSX1400 headlight brackets and an aftermarket headlight were also sourced. I also saw a bellypan for a GSF600, the B-King wannabe, so I got one of those too. By this time the bike resembled this....... With the K3 seat unit it was obvious the seat subframe needed surgery too.......
  6. Ape are ok, one minus point though is the o ring gets worn by the threads, so they can weep. A copper washer behind the locknut is a better alternative, means removing the rollpin to get the washer on though, but its not too tricky.
  7. The two inlet cams is worth a try, its not only busa's that benefit, around 5bhp, but GSX1400's too. Timed around 108/108 for starters.
  8. I'll have a look later, just needs some brake hoses and tyres really, the hoses have Ali fittings so they ought to be changed. Looking to resurrect it over this winter ready for next spring
  9. I'm after some tyres for my slabby, which is still on 18" rims, as I've not ridden it for a few years some new tyres might be an idea, not after mileage, just decent grip wet or dry, whats available?
  10. Nice, and the best colour scheme too, well sort hanging onto
