  1. I think this would have been 86 or 87 Darley moor
  2. That same bike later in the year at the manx gp.
  3. Just found this, the first one to be sold in Shropshire. me taking the keys for my first gsxr in 1985. it was a race bike as soon as I had 600 miles on it, the start of a journey that continues to this day.
  4. I don't know what most of the others run today, but I have got one 1100 with elongated chain adjusters and it does turn quicker with no side effects and I have used the short swingarm in the 750 with no problems.
  5. Didn't say you was, what I was trying to point out was most of those bikes were the ones with short swingarms and they had very good results. this is on the most demanding circuit in the world on both man and machinery and being ridden by some of the best riders of the time and believe me you don't win races on the IOM with a substandard bike.. I have had oil cooled gsxr's from when they were first released and raced them continually to this day and have to say that there is such a load of negative shit printed about them it makes you laugh, they were pritty much the first jap bike that you could buy to go racing with that you didn't have to go looking for a aftermarket frame. back to your swingarm why don't you just elongate the adjusters in the swingarm to move the wheel forward.
  6. I have used a standard sv 650 battery I think its a ytx12abs for the last four years this battery starts the bike just as normal will do the 4 laps of the classic TT and will still start the bike at the end of the race, all running total loss.
  7. Have seen this quite a few times, always the same place.
  8. They are very good shafts apart from the pissing about.
  9. Pussy hey? would love to see you out brake him at the end of the railway straight.
  10. Yes it was a good day finished 12th with a final lap of 120.5 mph and 117mph average for the race that's 151 miles and one pitstop later. used no oil and didn't touch it mechanically the whole fortnight, just suspension tweeks and tyres .
  11. Classic manx 2017 approach to Ramsey hairpin, Dan Hegarty on Dean's 750.
  12. Dennis at ballaugh bridge classic TT 2017, Silly old fool doing that at his age. Thanks to nicks photography.
  13. Dean's bike testing for the classic TT, sadly Gavin lost his life a few weeks after this photo.
  14. I.o.m. gearing is 16/42 at Aintree I would use 15/43 Aintree is a fast track like snetterton. its a bit tight to fit a 16 but it will go.
  15. You can on the j/k cases as they are line bored the same as an 1100 obviously you would use an 1100 crank.
  16. Above the classic TT 2017, A 120.522 mph lap of worlds most demanding circuit.
  17. I use 1052 clutch if its 1052 crank or 1127 clutch if its 1127, I must admit I have thought of using a gsxr 1000 slipper clutch but didn't see the point in the end.
  18. All of my bikes are 6 speed but I have not used bandit cases on any of them. just built a new big engine using 750 cases and box. I think the problem you have could be something to do with the bigger output bearing
  19. This is the bike we had got ready for Gavin this year. Dean the painters bike, Dan Hegarty Gavins team mate took over the ride.
  20. These are some pictures from last years 2016 classic TT of Gavin Lupton on my spare bike, sadly Gavin crashed his 600 at a support race for the ulster gp this year and later died from his injuries.
