  1. Use a dynatek ignition, wont need the CDI etc then and will minimalise your wiring to absolute bare bones.....
  2. Could always do something different, dont limit yourself to Suzuki. Mr7/11(The Terrible ThunderLizard !!!! ) documented his slabby evolution on OSS and used H***a front and rear. The GSish uses VFRfront and rear ends to name two variants. There is a lot of choice components out there if you look
  3. Did you fit the wiseco yourself? ( just checking in case youve been roasted by a seller) also if deffo a 1230, maybe the carbs are undersized?. I would say the pipe is not the problem. Pipe looks great and bends are not your problem.......
  4. I agree with Bluedog Lets see some pics and also what were your expectations of power etc vs what engine work has been done.
  5. Although I was running a Harris before this which was also good with no fitment issues and no power loss....
  6. I is using Cobra 4into 1 thin wall stainless sytem
  7. I had no problem with my GSX donkey in GS frame, what exhaust are you using?
  8. i am using SPS supplied fibres which Nick assures me are brilliant !!, and yes of course inner and outer basket notches, forgot to check. Told you I was having a senior moment...........................
  9. I might be having a senior moment here I recently fitted new clutch friction plates into 'The GSish' , I did the recommended oil soak prior to fitment. It was fine to start with but I am finding that pretty much every time i start bike from cold and engage 1st gear, the bike will jump forward and yesterday was enough to stall engine. I am using 10w40 oil and its fresh, the cable is in good condition and properly lubricated and adjusted (3-4mm freeplay at end of travel). What have i done wrong here? have I missed something?
  10. Pretty sure you dont need spacer and bearing, best way would be to cross reference on AlphaSports site maybe, fitted 750 gears to my earlier ET engine and didnt need to change spacer or bearing.
  11. If you have an oil take off on the gallery, do you need to block the oilway inthe crankcase leading up through the the studs?
  12. Have tried allsorts of plates before with and without success, OEM are still better than all others......16v motors all same clutch plates.
  13. Saxon Engineering produced a mono conversion for Gss at one point, was just looking at the adjusters and i is sure that Davida had a through axle with external nut and not a spindle held by m8/10 cap head each side. Maybe wrong, but just throwing it in the mix
  14. I used a Kat 1000 switch unit, has push/pull, lights and kill and also looks as if it should be there. Also had the advantage of plugging straight into loom with no mods.
  15. Like that alot, did you have any issue with the fuel tap vs carbs?
  16. http://www.e*ay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-Genuine-GS1000SN-Motorcycle-Muffler-Exhaust-Pipe-Plate-14155-49000-000-/222352944890?hash=item33c544aefa:g:uhQAAOSwUsJYWn~C I know these are GS1000 ones but they must also be available for your model.......
  17. Drag and Drift event. Hopefully going to be running the GSish atr this event.
  18. Did you check for spark? also was it just an engine or did you get carbs as well, seem to recall you having issue with carburettion!
  19. Have a VFRfront end on The GSish, longer than some looks good and is a bit different to the usual stuff. Mr 7/11 fitted H*nda running gear to his slabby in the days of old OSS, maybe some stuff in the vault regarding his build
  20. Might be worth just popping out your clutch to see if anything wrong in there before you comit to a whole engine........
  21. You would have to check the engine number to see if it is within the same model designation as your original unit. Maybe have to do some internet trawling to find that, Engine number maybe starts GN02? If the engine number series is the same then apart from subtle electrical differences they should be the same. But the last thing you want to end up with is an expensive doorstop........Maybe think about original airbox too if there is still room to fit. I remeber the carbs on these being complete twa*ts
  22. Maybe a 600 bandit would be a relatively easy conversion but you would need electrics and carbs and a pipe too
  23. Have a trailtech vapor on my GSish, ( GS1000 wirth VFR front) tacho shite, speedo brill and easy to wire in. Also meant losing the speedo cable and replacing with thin pick up eire
  24. Was gonna say is that a G tank and then saw the frame, doh.........Fine looking motorcycle
