I know what you mean. Work on so many bikes and all of a sudden you can't remember what's what.
In my defence I haven't been that far into a GS1000 for a couple of decades.

The GS has bolt on rubbers, Doesn't the GSX have seperate inlet tube type rubbers with a jubilee type clamp at either end? It's a very long time ago I worked on a GSX
If they are like the GS, I can measure the inside bore of the inlet rubber for you. I'm taking my carbs off today.
I just couldn't call to mind if the GS were bolt on or tubes as per the GSX.

Ok mate,i'll leave your entry in though in case you fancy a bit of down time.
Oh I'll fancy it alright, but I have a small window to get everything moved out of the old workshop and container and into the new one. Then sorted and set up ready to start earning again because on top of the increased costs there's a period of not earning a penny for over a month to contend with. Worth it in the end, but it's going to sting for a bit.

Maybe GS1000 rubbers might work or are they bolt on?
I'm not sure, I think they're the same set up but can't remember if they are whether the head side ID is the same. It's a very long time since I had anything to do with a GS1000.

Fitting a set of VM 29 Smoothbores to a 16v GSX head. Are there suitable rubbers or is it a case of pinching down the existing rubbers?

Oss will be there, our entry is accepted.
Just as confirmation @PaulmI definitely won't be coming as I've just had the call about the new workshop and I should be getting the keys a week or so before then. So I'll be running around like an idiot trying to get everything moved and set up.

Or sticky throttle cable
So often overlooked (I'm as guilty as anyone else) as you're tempted to dig in before checking the cable.

Rossco's engine ? Sad end to be dumped in a muddy field !!
Thanks for dropping the motor off with Clive.
Gaz
I think it was because he wasn't there on the Friday/Saturday to get it into his car.
No worries, I remembered the alternator and starter too.

I have no idea how I ended up tagging you in it?
Whatever, tell it to the judge. Guilty by association.

I get what you and a couple of others were saying about the welding on the arm being more purposeful than pretty, but I really like the look of that arm. Harvest the slots for your Spondon arm and replace them with something else and that arm and frame would be the beginnings of something good IMHO.

Arrived back at the OSS camp this morning. If ever a picture summed up the morning after the night before for OSS at a show this is it. @Havoc

Agree with all of the post, especially those two points as they are exactly the reason I went for a draw through.

The first/main question is, what do you want to use it for most often?

I’ll try and get a few late nights in this week to align wheels sprockets and make some spacers
then attack the calliper hanger
That's the order I did the rear wheel work for the Dresda, a month ago. I still haven't sorted the hanger.
I keep looking at it and pondering whether it would be simpler/quicker/easier to stick with the hanger I have and get a disc to suit.

Yeah i know mate just ordered one from sps, mines fucked, where's me glasses
You sometimes go onto auto-pilot with stuff like that. Strip it down, check all the plates carefully, see what the springs and back plate are like, check the basket for ridges and don't even glance at the inner.
Shit happens, you've found the issue.

Not sure if I've got one of these but I can have a rummage Monday for you?

This can be a very costly illusion
"Take much" rather than "cost much". As soon as you start dicking about with bikes the bills come thick, large and fast.

That's the most obvious story but there are a load more factors actually..
I don't doubt it, with stuff like that there's usually one main factor and a host of other bits that contribute or make things worse. Over all though it doesn't seem to take much to get a TL into a serious superbike territory.
One of a few bikes I've always fancied but never owned.

Sort of (IMHO).
I think a lot of the issues with small companies and the self employed stem from a single issue. People seem to think that because they're good at something they can work for themselves no bother.
They trouble is that they, and a good many others, don't realise that being good at something and being able to run/manage a business are two very different things.
Some can do one or the other, very few can do both. Being good at what you do, and/or being a nice well meaning person will only carry you for a short while.
Unfortunately I can think of quite a few who are good at what they do, and great to chat to but couldn't run a business if their lives depended on it.
