What type of hose is best for the lines, is it the teflon one?

I'm hoping to get my frame powder coated once I've finished build but I was looking at the frame number and wanted to check if it's on to powder coat over it? I know that it needs to be readable but wanted to see if anyone else has painted or coated there frame and what they did about it? It's a gsxr 750 1990. Cheers

Thanks that's great, there's a few options to check out now, does any have any opinions on the vance and hines drag system? I know it's probably not the best for performance but I'm going for a custom cafe style build on this bike so thought it might suit the build. Cheers

Lol thanks mate, I've sold some of my bike parts now and the exhaust will be one of the most expensive parts for the build so I want to get this bought soon, those ones are now expensive than the vance and hines I've been looking at, not much to choose from really, will 1100 ones fit my 750? Thanks for your help

I'm looking into buying a new full system for my gsxr 750 1990 project bike and the only one I've found in the vance the hines dragstyle one which I do like the look of but wanted to see if anyone knew of any others avaliable? Cheers

Thanks mate, I haven't looked there yet lol, does it have it's own separate wire like on a wn or is it wired into to an existing loom?

After stripping my bike down I didn't notice or find an oil pressure switch, I have one on the wn but couldn't see one on the 1990, just wanted to know this model has one or is mine missing? Cheers

Thanks mate, my bike dosnt have a side stand switch, did they come standard on all models do you know? Maybe that's it

I've been stripping my bike down the last few days and it's a gsxr 750 1990 and I've come across these wires but can't tell what the are? Ones a random loose wire that isn't connected to anything and the other seems like someone has joined together. I'll post some pics. Cheers

Thanks madb I'll check see what mine is, I know I guess when you mess with an engine like this, it won't be like a factory tuned bike unless you had it professionally done, just have to enjoy the ride and make sure it's safe :-)

Thanks mate I think I'll go with the an8 hopefully they'll be ok, I'll get that fitted then look at the lines, I'll probably be asking questions on that too lol, can you buy new parts for where the hose connects to the engine head near the cam cover, I'd like to update those too if I can.

I have the 750 ecu too madb but I don't think I've put the 750 timing wheel on? Is that something I should do? No I haven't revved it that high, I'm like you think I've got it to 9k and thar was fast enough for me lol, I'm running 15 and 45 gearing I thought it would wheelie more but as my throttle response isn't good on the blip. With my new build I'm thinking about keeping the standard air box but it looks so ugly on a custom bike I think. Cheers boys

Cheers boys I'll check that out, it runs fine it's just not smooth on the Rev build up when at low revs

Hi madb, yeah it doesn't have a nice smooth build up through the low revs but only once you've closed the throttle and then open it back up, like when you're slowing at a junction or round about, it sort of like jumps in rather than a nice smooth build up, it doesn't bog at a all tho. Cheers

I'm happy with my rf900 engine swap but I have really bad throttle response, I especially noticed if riding my 1990 750 and seeing how smooth it is, I just wondered what might cause this or how I could try and improve it, I have pod filters with the 900 bottom end and the 750 head, I've got 147 main jets. Cheers

After having a ride on the bike yesterday I noticed a bad flat spot between 5k-6k I've read that it can be a problem on the 1990 bikes but wondered if anyone knew what could be causing it? It's a standard bike with a micron exhaust system and air box but I haven't looked inside the carbs yet to see if any previous owners have modded then at all. Cheers

So my bike has had newer fairings put on? @Captain Chaos I didn't realise mate, it's defo a 1990 as the v5, why would someone do that, do you think the tank is different too? It's had 11 owners it says on the v5 so who knows what they've done to it, it's got horrible indicators too lol, thanks madb I'm not sure which way to go now, I love the handling of this bike so I could keep the riding position.
