  1. This is the S so far... Plenty of tapping out threads and clearing grit from the bearing recesses... Quality of the powder is not the greatest, but it's pretty good. Fitted the motor, and running gear. Sorting the loom. Next thing to fit It's the pipes, but I want to give then a good polishing first.
  2. No mate.... It's gonna be black.... VERY black !!!!
  3. Picked up my bits from the Powder coaters today... Looks nice !!!
  4. Been playing with the sub frame... Removed the tabs on the lower sub frame rails and fitted some 10mm Rose Joints. Also butchered an S saddle...
  5. So proud !!!!! Hahahahahahahaha.......Fuck I've missed you clowns....
  6. Where dem Pineyapple chunks at boy ??? Changed days mate....
  7. Scott, I was going anyway dude... The TL forums have been buzzing with this for over a year... I'll be heading up with a few guys from there... It was pretty coincidental that Noff messaged me and asked if i'd like to have my TL on the OSS stand... I'll be bringing Vodka alright !!!! Who's party wig-wam we crashing ???
  8. Got stuck into the old girl today and tore her to bits... Frame, Swinger, subbie and an assortment of brackets and hangers are off for powder coating on Tuesday !
  9. Time to tear it all apart... Frame, Subbie, Swing arm getting powdered black... Anyone know where I can get my fork outers anodised black?
  10. So, it begins... Bought some bits to improve the way it goes and the way it stops... Dymags originally for a Busa and a set of PFM calipers and discs. Pulled one apart to give it a thorough clean out and to check for damage. Just brake dust and a bit of grime, pulled a couple of pistons out to find that they're immaculate... Happy so far !
  11. Hi Chaps, building a TL1000R... kind of !!!! Thought I'd share some of my work here, I'm currenlty doing a re-vamp of my S at the same time so progress may be a tad slow... Came across this R looking a bit sorry for itself last year and got it for a stupidly low price. I've decided to do this a little different. I love the R but the seat unit on them is pretty horrific so i thought i'd try the S subbie to see how if it'd fit. Here's a few pics of it so far... Seat unit is a little high i think, I'm just playing with the height just now to get the lines right. Not got much bling for it as the S has all the gucci bits.... I do have a Double Braced JMC Arm and an M4 Hi level system though. I've got a motor, loom, throttlebodies and ECU coming from a 97S which i'm gonna fit as the R motor thats currently fitted is unknown and been sitting since 2009.
  12. Just starting on a winter re-vamp of my TL..... This is what it looks like just now.Banoffee has asked if mine will go on the OSS stand at this years bash at Donnington... Better make it look a bit special then eh ?
  13. If you've never owned one before, then now is the time to buy.... These things are appreciating and next year is the 20th Anniversary of it's launch. I've had a Twin in the stable for almost 10 years now... Once you get used to the Torque you love it... Put it this way, I got a ZX9R in March and it felt gutless in comparison....Nothing rides like a large capacity V-Twin... I'll never look back to an inline 4 again...
  14. It's quite a common thing for TL's to be bad starters or runners if one or both of the plugs aren't 100%. Change your plugs and while you have the leads out I'd pull the HT caps off and have a look for any corrosion on the threaded part where it joins the lead. Snip 5-10mm off the lead and screw the Cap back on. I've heard stories about them not liking irridium plugs too, but I've used them for years with no trouble. Check your coil connections as the 12v feed and signal cables corrode too. If you do have a bad coil give me a shout as i have a spare.
  15. I'll show you just how much of a poof I am..... If you like....x
  16. Not a lot really..... Wurzle's not going !!!! At least I'll meet the "OLD CREW" again, after how many years ???
  17. Been offered an L Reg GSXR750WN.... it's got 50K on the clock. It runs pretty sweet, has MOT till December and is used daily, so i'm assuming it's not rotten. I know these things are beginning to appreciate in value and im seriously thinking about it. The mileage is kinda putting me off a tad... What are the motors like at this age?
  18. I've had a Hagon unit in mine since 2009... It's been brilliant. Half the price of Ohlins...comes with all the necessary bracketry to mount to the original damper mounts. I believe the R1 Shock mod uses the sub-frame mount ! dunno if I'd trust that long term....
  19. Hagon do a kit too... I've had moie fitted to my TLS for over 5 years now and it's still sweet ! A cheaper alternative to Ohlins !!!
