Measured the head again and it ,s 28cc
£40 worth of Suzuki O-rings arrived today so will nail it back on over the weekend...............
-
Or use 1100k yokes ...................

Got me questioning myself now lol ill check one of my spare heads 2morrow lol
LoL
I,ve heard 2 different quotes the on Dot head being 22 / 23 cc........"THE ONE I HAD WAS 22cc" But that went to the gods yonks ago
Cant measure the other 1100 head I have as its got no valves in......
But will measure the 1100k again...................may get an Adult to double check..................
-
Gsxr/bandit combustion chamber should be 23cc?
Measured my 1100k head and its 28cc
-
Right done some proper measuring."cant do the dome without removing motor or jacking it up at stupid angle so used 10cc as mentioned else-ware"... and used two different calculators to get the static C/R
don't believe 5lb over on the 5hite forged studs sorry "precision machined items" was issue as they still had the same lbs on when I removed....
Not had chance to clean up head and check surface......and speaking to a few peeps the unlucky bad gasket has been mentioned"
Still onwards and upwards we now what the C/R was....and I still have 4.5 gallons off race fuel to burn....

It's got all the right bits, just can't remember the spec, spec plate isn't present also.
so how do I tell?
oriiginaly bought direct from Tony Myers.
Cheers SRR
Put up a couple of pictures ..someone will know

just out of interested, what is a ray jay turbo unit worth, about 200 miles on it.
Cheers SRR
That would depend to a degree on how bad someone wants it and what size Rajay ...it is ....

1127 rods are 117mm
Busa rods are 119.5mm
Doing some basic calcs off the top of my head,
at 0 deck itll be around 11.2:1
0.5mm below deck around 10.2:1
1mm below deck 9.7:1
Now thats not gospel, thats based on guestimates as im not a turbo guy but thats baseing it on some measurements ive got writen down from previous engines ive built. Hope this helps
Not a million miles out.....
This is where I start to get lost.
My plan is to use mostly standard gsxr 1127 lump (head, crank, cons) and rebored to 1216 with busa Pistons in and then add a turbo.
I do have a set of gen 1 busa rods that came with the gen 2 Pistons (I know right) if that will help but I'm pretty sure they are longer. Also before anyone jumps on me I know gen 2 Pistons have smaller pins but that's beside the point.
Anyway I have no idea how I work out comp ratios and in turn how far below deck I need to be. I did try google but its still quite confusing working with formula. Any help?
there is a good calculator here ....http://www.cbperformance.com/v/enginecalc.html
just make sure you select MM before starting

what makes the air cooled so much more expensive?
It can cost more to do the crank and buy a set of straight cuts ....
than it cost to build my 1216 turbo motor.................

I thought 1052 were longer, 117.4mm and 1127 are 117mm. ?
No They have the same part no................
-
can you remember this base gasket thickness from this?
I used a stock Suzuki Blandit 1157 Base gasket.....
And having just measured 3 used "GSXR" ones
1 from a 1052 motor = 0.25mm
1 from a 1127 motor =0.25mm
1 from a 1127 motor =0.40mm.......
-
they are all the same on the 1135cc model..............
and best to buy complete ones if you can.....as buying the missing parts gets very expensive
-
haha well my friend is currently trying to persuade me to buy his old turbo from his 450bhp skyline so we will play it by ear haha
If its a ceramic one then I would give it a miss...............
-
They will sit 1mm down from deck if you use 1052 rods on 1127 Crank....
Vizman I know 2/5th off #uckall...........But I,ve never been afraid to join bits together to find out if it will work.............
I typed that wrong....
It should read They will sit 1mm down from deck if you use 1127 rods on 1052 crank
1052 & 1127 Rods are the same ..Crank stroke is different ..

-
does anyone know how far below deck will they sit with 1127cc crank and rods?
I like it duck, your a man after my own heart haha
They Don't ...
Pic is My Motor Gen 1 Busa Pistons on 1127 rods on 1127 crank in 1127 cases
-
Just out of interest do the 1052 rods have 20mm or 18mm pins - think I know answer but asking anyway?
20mm from memory and me MTC catalogue says the same................
-
As they say 'A picture speaks a thousand words' but still confused as a few have been done with turbo builds and they appear to be low comp - certainly not as that picture would suggest....................so remain confused!

Busa pistons with 1127 rods in 1127 liners 2mm below deck
my 1127 rods must have stretched then..................

I think Musphadump on the old site said he had to skim 1.2mm off the deck height to get the correct squish and compression. (1127 with busa slugs running n/a)
I.R.C.C. That was with an 1127 head.
Mister dump said and promised a lot ...................
And I recall a few had to chase him for some time to get there promised stuff back..................
Then he suddenly dropped of the coupon I also seam to recall

You sure Clive? - I always thought they were down the bores and if you use the Busa rods they are above deck?
This convince you ............
- 1
-
is that with stock rods?
Yes ................
-
There was a good right up on old site about this by musthava (I think). Busa pistons are about 2mm down the block giving a comp of arount 8 to 1.
Err I don't think so Gen 1 Busa Slugs on 1127 rods end gives a Zero Deck Height....In fact the inlet crown is a few thou above deck...

if you ignore the ref to a dot head the info here is relevant
