  1. You can use the standard headgasket, mines done about 3000 miles with the standard one in,ideally a 1216 Cometic one would be used,i shall change mine when i next have the head off of it but its been fine up to now at 11psi.
  2. We just fitted the pistons in mine, comp ratio is about 8 to 1 which is probably too low but works fine. As a ride everyday bike its great, keeps up with newer bikes when opened up and i can go to the shop on it if i want to with no worries, you will need a lock up though, try Dave Dunlop for one (fastbyme turbo systems) hes on here and facebook.
  3. Yes it is for the rebore,I highly recommend a lock up clutch as well though
  4. Gen 1 Busa pistons are the ones, takes it to 1216,if you're on a tight budget reuse your standard head gasket on the rebore,it'll be fine, been running a standard one in mine all summer on my Busa pistoned 1216 bandit turbo motor,I'll sort out a proper one over the winter,I'm running 11psi and about 200bhp
  5. Ha ha, I destroyed three Pistons in my turbo bandit motor,it was at 15psi at one point though!! Busa pistons are a good compromise, paid £70 for mine and £130 for the rebore
  6. We used some old dog bones for the bottom engine mounts, saves making them, just cut them to length and weld them in.
  7. Yep no bracing on my ET frame, approx 200bhp going through it,just sent it off to be painted, gave it a look over before it went, can't see any cracks or anything,it might get braced in the future as it evolves though, only for aesthetic reasons though as I like the look of braced frames, this is the reason it's being painted and not powder coated,it's easier to clean up and weld to.
  8. Nice to meet you there Ash,good to catch up with a few other folk as well
  9. There was there was a good condition 750ET only just out of mot for 1200 Ono there, had a chat with the bloke and he would of took £1000 for it,would of been a good buy I think.
  10. make sure your exhaust will fit without having to weld stubs on,some of the mounts I've seen set the engine too far back in my opinion,we set mine up off the front mounts and made the rest to suit the motor, not sure how the ones on here work out exhaust wise, seems to me that it's making more work for yourself having to weld stubs on the exhaust as well,of course this won't matter if you are fabricating your own headers.
  11. Anyone going?,I'm going on Sunday
  12. Daves really busy, wouldn't it have made more sense to have asked all your questions in one email? His kits are top draw and worth every penny of any waiting time you may have, been running mine for a while now, puts a smile on my face every time I ride it.
  13. Mines insured with bikesure, they know all the mods £216 fully comp this year
  14. Wire the scavenge pump up separately to a switch with a permanent live so you can leave the scavenge pump running for a few seconds after you shut off the engine so there is no oil left at the turbo,no smoke at startup then.
  15. I'm going Sunday if anyone is going, hopefully me bike will be on display there as well. Paul
  16. There's plenty of kits around with the stock rubbers being used, and yes they do fit into the plenum, the choice is yours really, mines been on for about 4000miles and as I've said I've had no problems,it's putting out around 200bhp at the moment, you'll enjoy it when it's built, good luck. Paul
  17. Mine has stock rubbers and I have no problems at 11psi,or you could weld stubs onto the plenum and use silicon hose to join the plenum to the carbs. Paul
  18. Mine uses the stock rubber boots, they will be fine.
  19. If you want a kit,go to Dave Dunlop at FastByMe,highly recommended,and it'll come with a lockup.................
  20. My B12 turbo motor is running Gen1 busa Pistons,a lockup clutch, and is otherwise stock and is circa 200bhp at 11psi according to the motors builder FBM (Dave Dunlop),you won't really notice the slight loss of power off boost,my bike motors along fine off boost alongside my cousins stock B12,once the boost gauge starts flickering though it's a different matter! Mine is running a IHI VF 10 turbo, good for 240/250 BHP,stock Pistons it was 160/170 BHP at 7psi,Pistons didn't like 15psi much though! Keep asking questions and you will get there,I'm still learning about turbos, but I sure know they are great fun in a road bike.
  21. 1200 Bandit front end into a EFE,stem swap needed or bearing swaps? What's needed? Cheers Paul
