  1. I always use a dab of gun gum on each collet. Though I'm sure silicone would do the trick too You just have to be gentle on reassembly so they don't fall out
  2. Anybody know where I can get the dome headed fairing screws? The ones I've found have very small dome diameters, and the genuine Suzuki ones are a silly price thanks Bernard
  3. The heat dispersed is based on the log mean temperature difference, which depends on the direction of travel of the cooling and the cooled fluids. There's lots of calculators on the net. I used to be able do do this stuff from first principles but my brain hurts even thinking about it.
  4. and the o rings are just over a fiver
  5. Thanks Toni, Robinsons are doing them for £9.94
  6. got a link or part no for these, I can't find them
  7. I hard bolted mine on the slabby, never had a problem
  8. I have NRC engine covers on one of my bikes. Pretty near indestructible
  9. I've seen too many bikes dig in and flip because of bobbins, wrecking both sides. Mind you that was on the soft stuff (gravel traps and run offs). If you only crash on tarmac I'm sure you'll be fine. If you launch a bike skywards they're not much use.
  10. If you have the codes can you tell me what they are Thanks Bernard
  11. Not really worried about a heavy throttle. I've seen the R1/6 conversion on later bikes, seems ideal, but would it work on a slabby?

    Slaby fuel tap

I'm watching this as I have the same problem. I've seen rolls of o ring rubber for sale , though I'm not sure how well the joint would stand up to petrol. Have you a link to the Chinese supplier?
  13. I managed to break the throttle tube on my slabby 750. So I thought I may as well fit a qa one. Any recommendations? Bernard
  14. I need to rebuild the carbs on my slabby. I'm probably going to bore it out to 771, so I thought that bigger carbs might be an idea. I want to keep the airbox so I though boring out the originals might be the solution. So is it worth it and how much of a ball ache is setting them up? Thanks Bernard
  15. I've run 140s and 150s on mine, prefer the 150 actually
  16. sounds like a plan. Thanks again
  17. That answers my question, I'll get a 2nd hand R1/6 shock . Dupersunc, can you give me the details of someone who can freshen it up?
  18. I've decided to keep the original forks and wheels on my slabby, purely for looks. What springs do people recommend to replace the tired old springs? Are cartridge emulators worth the hassle? Also I've decided to do an R6 shock conversion. As any secondhand ones will be a bit worn out, can anyone recommend someone to do a rebuild? Thanks Bernard
  19. hijack here but I think Lammy is asking the same question I have. There are a plethora of seals and gaskets out there but which are any good? I suspect a lot on a well known internet auction site may be crap. Cash is always the issue
  20. Now before anyone goes off on one I realise this has been done to death. I have used the search but still have a few questions (and a pain in my head). So, I want to keep the rwu look so a complete slingy front end seems the way to go. But I did read that a bandit 600 front wheel will fit the slabbie forks ( maybe with a bearing Change) without machining. Is this correct? And will I be able to retain the slabbie speedo drive discs and calipers? Thanks Bernard
  21. If you drop them too far you affect the trail which might make it unstable. Mind you a good steering damper would solve this. Don't forget about clearance between the wheel and rad
