I know the connectors are different, but besides that, can they be swapped?

Don't the Blandit ones need the 'secret sauce' resistor in the wiring somewhere to function correctly?

I was wondering that.

you need the bandit ignition switch which has the resistor in the base.. or swop the loom and cdi and switch then no wire cutting

I have a Bandit coming my way with a suspected fried CDI, hence the question

I’ve got a mk2 bandit cdi on the 1052 in my EFE, just needs the secret resistor sticking in the right place and one of the VR sensors left unplugged.

i can’t see why any oil cooled cdi would work with any oil cooled engine

Does yours also run Bandit pickups, or the original?

a lot of slinsghots have the same pic up as a 1200 bandit the part number is the same

Slabby pickups with a b6 trigger wheel. One of the Slabby pickups left unplugged

Just went for a run on it and changed the CDI to a known good one half way; no improvement. Did a few tests and I suspect something wrong with the fuellines or the tap.
