R1bandit1100 Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Hello, I've decided to start my first project and so far I have myself a 98 bandit 6 with a 02 R1 subframe. I currently have a 91 750 Gsxr engine but it's giving me alot of grief, so really tempted to sell it all and get a 1100. What year fits into the bandit frame? Also wondering what's the best swing arm, brakes, forks to use? I've got an R1 shock, and looking to go with gsxr 1300 forks. Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks Quote
Blue Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 Hi I believe the difference between 6 & 12 frame is the rear pegs therefore any of the oil cooled will fit, best forks to fit depends on what you want from the forks & how deep your pockets are 1 Quote
fatblokeonbandit Posted September 17, 2018 Posted September 17, 2018 The frame dimensions are the same, the only differences between the 600 and 1200 are the rear peg hangers like Blue said, the rear bottom engine bolt hole is 10mm on a 600 12mm on a 1200, so needs drilling out, the bottom triangular engine mounts are welded on on a 600 bolt on on a 1200, the 1200 has an extra brace between the front engine mounts and the lock stop tab on the frame is wider on a 600 than a 1200. so yes any oil cooled will fit as to the rest of it it depends on how much money you have 1 Quote
