The carbs don't look that bad. Make sure you keep the float bowl gaskets intact as replacements are expensive and pattern ones are shit. If you strip the carbs out and remove all rubber and plastic bits, soak them in a mix of acetone and cellulose thinners for 24hrs prior to untrasonic cleaning. This will indeed strip all paint effectively as well as removing the varnished fuel. The most difficult bit to clean is the very fine drillings for the cold start circuit. Part of this is in each float bowl and if that bit fails to clear, try some dilute acid such as citric acid solution. You can target the hole directly using a small syringe. Wonder wheels wheel cleaner works for this too as it's mildly acidic.

They are already on the way ooop norffff to johnny, I thought he had given up doing them but apparently not..:tu
