sstacky159 Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 i have a et swingarm on my gs1000.anyone know what wheel will go straight in.ie.600 bandit,sv650 etc.thanks..paul. Quote
Swiss Toni Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Straight in? 600 Bandit, with GS500 (may be GS550) sprocket carrier. A 5.5" wheel could be persuaded to fit, but that also may need the carrier reducing in width/change, and some of the stiffening web inside the arm taken away by approx. 50mm. Quote
sstacky159 Posted August 9, 2017 Author Posted August 9, 2017 cheers toni.not straight forward then? Quote
Swiss Toni Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 Well...not exactly, but not too much trouble! Give it a go! Quote
wraith Posted August 9, 2017 Posted August 9, 2017 As above, b6 mk1 wheel gs500 sprocket carrier, but still need to sort out spacers and if I remember the b6 is the same 20mm spinal but the GS carrier is 17mm center sleeve, so you will need the b6 sleeve and cut that down. You can use the b6 carrier but it can be title. The other thing you need to think about is the rear brake, as yours is on top and the b6 is under neath, so you will need a gsxf calliper top keep it on top. Easy swop Quote
neil w Posted August 11, 2017 Posted August 11, 2017 If you are using a B6 rear wheel and Gs500 sprocket carrier it is also easier at the same time to put on a GSX750F (early teapot rear caliper, the one that mounts above the swinging arm) and using an early gsxr caliper carrier you can use the B6 disc Quote
bigyellowthing Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 What about a Bandit 12 swingarm? Quote
Fjbj40 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 (edited) I put Bandit 12 wheel with gs1000 sprocket carrier and the bearings from the gs1000 wheel in the Bandit wheel. Needs new spacers manufactured and the sprocket carrier machined down .060" to move sprocket in to avoid chain hitting frame. You will have to clean up welds on the frame around the pivot area also to make room for chain. It's REALLY tight. Make sure you get the narrowest 530 chain available. I run a 170 tire and it clears the gs1100 swinger by about 5-10mm each side. Front offset sprocket is also required. Edited September 27, 2017 by Fjbj40 Quote
Fjbj40 Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 Oh yea, I also used the Bandit 12 rear brake. Had to relocate the torque arm to under the swinger. Just so you know, it's not a straight bolt on! Quote
