B12 carbs black thing on side?

Got a set of b12 mk1 bst carbs, but they have not got the black electoral plug on the side of number 4 carbs, just a bar sticking out.

So will the carbs still work on a non bandit motor? 

Or do I need to get one, even that it will not be coneted?
