Tombola Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Evening all! I have a gsx1100f that I have built a turbo kit for and have got to stage of tuning and MOT, I have found the front brakes to be spongy/crap so a strip down is in order I've found a seized piston so far, possibly more when I do the other side! My question is what's people's opinion on these opposing piston brakes? Are they man enough for the job? Are they worth keeping and repairing? Or should I look at fitting alternatives? Quote
Swiss Toni Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 Standard brakes are a bit wooden. See if Nissin or Tokico 4 pots can be made to fit. Or swap the whole front end for something more modern. Depends how deep your pockets are! 1 Quote
Tombola Posted February 24, 2017 Author Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) I didn't want to go ahead possibly buy new pistons, pads etc when I'm throwing money at pants brakes! Thanks Swiss Toni Edited February 24, 2017 by Tombola Doh Quote
Rene EFE Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 Like Toni says; get something like Slingshot USD's and fit the whole lot, including brakes and wheel; it's a MAJOR step up from the stock GSXF gear. Quote
