bandit sump fitting to gsxr 1100m engine

Hello all. im fitting an 1127 engine from a gsxr 1100m into an 1984 Katana 750 frame and want to swap the 1127 sump for a bandit one for ground clearance. i have a bandit 600 sump and strainer but the oil pressure regulator is hitting the feed oil pipe for the oil cooler.The regulator is the same on both sumps but sits higher on the bandit sump, it seems to be hitting a flat piece to the side of the pipe. can this flat piece be removed ??? or do i have to change something deeper in the engine???? Any info would be appreacheated

Yeh that's all I did when I fitted a bandit 6 sump to my power screen engine. Been like that for the past 20 thousand miles so must be okay to do.

I've done a few sump swops between bandits and gsxr's,  and every time I've used the strainer and the oil drain tubes ( 14 and 15 ) and its been fine..

 

as you can see they are slightly diferant

Was that from the donor motor, including sump, Gary?

Yes if fitting bandit sump you need bandit suction strainer and oil drain pipes, you can see the left one, number 14, has a locating tang that sits higher  on the bandit pipe.
