v-twinwalker Posted January 5 Posted January 5 was wondering if i can have somebody or a couple people help me out with pricing out parts? im located in the US. i have a bunch of stuff id like to get rid of, i figured my pricing is fine but i have no hits, its mainly slabside parts but theres a couple slingshot things and a tiny bit of watercooled stuff. want to have this stuff sold but i cant afford to just practically give it away. Gixer1460 Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I'm guessing the US market for these bikes isn't as strong or as popular compared to Europe hence no interest, and yes you will have to 'virtually give it away!' Also gonna have to factor in freight costs if selling to Europe and that won't be cheap either which will hit sale prices! So, unless the parts are very rare or exotic, its a buyers market in terms of returns! Quote
bunk Posted January 6 Posted January 6 I was interested in your 6 speed trans stuff as i'll likely need something for my 750, but its been put on the back back burner for a few more months. I do need a front 86 1100 wheel (smaller axle) if you have one, mine has a flat spot. Quote

Upshotknothole Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Try posting on Craigslist also put stuff up on here. There are a handful of us scattered around the country that still hang out on here. I think there are a lot more of these bikes still on the road in Europe, we destroyed a lot of them either from racing or people just being dumb. Now it's collectors buying everything and driving the prices up so they can have their stock garage queen. I regularly check craigslist up and down the west coast looking for old GSXR parts, they're not the easiest things to find. I think about 10-15 years ago the parts started drying up for the oil cooled stuff. I don't even look at the facebook groups anymore, mostly scams or people asking way too much money when you know they're buying and parting out bikes. Facebook marketplace isn't much better. Quote

Facebook marketplace isn't much better. last time i tried craigslist unfortunately a bunch of scammers was all i got but maybe ill try again. the only thing that sucks with posting on this forum is that i would literally flood the for sale page, and not to mention Facebook is so much easier to make a sales post. the second part is more me complaining but still lol. at some point i will get motivated enough to post all the stuff on here. i think one of the issues may be that its stock stuff and basically all of it needs to be repainted or coated or cleaned. and yeah i know people are hoarding this stuff, kinda dumb but you either play the game or you lose, but i look at it this way, lets say a stock slabside is double its price it is now in 10 years, or even 5 years, well how much did i have to spend to keep it pristine during those 10 years, was it less than the amount it gained during those 5 or 10 years? also hopefully i have a good enough job to where i dont give a shit that i potentially lost out on making a good amount on 1 or 2 bikes. i do plan on keeping 1 or 2 extra frames incase i want to so some sort of stock build or just get the itch to build something wild, and with some of the builds i have already, basically a turbo would be the only way to consider a build wild for me. I bet you would quit fb if you did. Unless your addicted to it. Let me know what gear sets you have that would work on my 86 750 and what you want for them. Quote
Upshotknothole Posted January 9 Posted January 9 Scammers are everywhere. Amazon and Eblag are flooded with fake OEM parts now. Post what you have up in a single for sale thread on here. See if there's any interest. You can always copy and paste the info to facebook later. Quote
