Metralla Posted November 28 Posted November 28 What are the differences between J carburettors? West Germany (E22), Austria (E39) and Switzerland (E18) have different P/N for the carb bodies. This makes me think that either the casting or the slider sleeve (how is it called?) are different. Slider sleeves do not have any P/N, ther were sold as part of the carb body. How can you tell which spec is the carb? Are they marked? Quote
DAZ Posted November 29 Posted November 29 I don't have the specifics info you're after , but I am thinking the different part numbers could possibly be for lower emissions/power restrictions as I remember an EU mandate thing that limited bikes power in the late 80s ,it led to manufacturers doing things like fitting carb tops that didn't allow the slide to open fully (kawasaki), welding washers in exhausts (Suzuki) , or moulding blockages in inlet rubbers (Yamaha).... Hope you get the information you're after but that is what sprung to mind 3 Quote
Toecutter Posted November 29 Posted November 29 The difference if I recall is noted in the factory manual with regards to carb settings. Think the 1100s g,h,j in all markets had the 34cvs, just different jets, needle positions etc to suit. 1 Quote
Upshotknothole Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Didn't realize it was a slabby 1100, all of my shop manuals are for slingshots. I'm sure someone here has the slabbie factory manual. 1 Quote

So in the parts list when Suzuki says E22 mr (middle right) carburettor, it means that comes fully assembled with bowls jets etc, just different jets? My understanding was that E22 casting and/or slider sleeve is different, because otherwise, for E22 at least only main jet is different (127.5 vs 130). If E22 "carb assy" are different only because of different jets then it is a waste of P/Ns imo. Quote
