DeegzARG Posted October 22 Posted October 22 I was wondering what you folks prefer on your older bikes…..pod filters or stock air box configuration? Trying to get some info on why one might be better then the other in certain situations and what you folks have tried and wouldn’t try again all the best!! Quote
Duckndive Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Bit of a broad church ... a lot depends on bike engine , mods , exhaust , carbs, etc you do well to better a stock airbox on stock CV carbs 1 Quote
Jonny Posted October 22 Posted October 22 Lots to be said for keeping the standard air box if you can. I’m running K&N twin ovals on my 1230EFE. I always find they run better than single pods because of the shared airflow. 1 Quote
PaintItBlack Posted October 22 Posted October 22 I’ve had alloy bell mouths on my gs1000 for around 35 years, my bike has the stock 28mm slide carbs, fitted with air correctors, after a bit of time spent setting up it runs great, not quite as smooth as with the airbox, but a couple of times refitting the carbs to the airbox was enough for me, dead easy to remove/refit the carbs now, have you got slides or cv carbs on your bike ? Slides are easier to set up than cv’s when you junk the airbox 1 Quote
