Oil cooler install progress

I got a wave of creativity over me yesterday so made a bracket for my oil cooler. The initial plan was to mount it where the stock horns mount, so I made a bracket with the intention of mounting it center of frame. Unfortunately the engine doesn't sit perfectly center in the frame so that made one of the AN fittings almost touch the exhaust runner and the hose probably would have thouched.

I thought about offsetting it a bit but realised that would put both hoses really close to the downpipes so I decided to raise it and run 90degree fittings and run the hoses in between 2 and 3 for the extra space that's there. So that's why there's some extra holes in the bracket and why I had to make two brackets to raise it. Had I known or thought about this initially I would have just made the bracket shaped to accomodate the lift.

If the aluminium bracket is strong enough remains to be seen. I had also planned to cut some holes in it for airflow but I think that might make it too flimsy, perhaps I can find someone who has a set of dimple dies.

Yes, used the windows phone connection, I'm pretty sure when I've uploaded directly from phone via mobile browser i'ts the correct orientation.

Just a few thoughts.

The cooler may be too big unless you live somewhere incredibly hot.

The bracket is unnecessarily complicated. I just use angle section from Eblag

I have oil temp displaying on my speedo/tach so I can keep an eye on it. Also I don't have the efe oil filter cover so unless I make a plug to reroute all the oil flow through the cooler I don't think it's going to be to cold. We'll see.

Does the green indicate future cutouts? Woulda helped if i read too the end! That was my thought as well, dimple some holes. I would keep a eye on the bends of the bracket.

Yes that was part of the plan but, decided it would compromise it to much. Found a friend of mine with dimple dies so, will be paying him a visit i think.

Bends are a weak point, I wish I could weld aluminium so I could have welded on just a little bit in the corners for support. We'll see how it holds up.
