SATANSAM Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Hi there folx! No time no see. I'm customizing a second GSX750EF I bought for 450€. Now the problem: - Headlight bulbs blow when reving the motor. They lighten untill they blow. I'm thinking that maybe it's the regulator that is screwed to the chassis and maybe shouldn't be touching earth...Or simply that the regulator is fried. Tail light doesn't blow. Cheerz amigos! 1 Quote
Gixer1460 Posted June 26 Posted June 26 Is this bike one of the ones that has one leg of the R/R output directed up to the light switch? If so, i'd suspect the R/R is Fubar'd and its allowing over voltage out to the lights but ALSO the battery. Do a quick meter check on the battery whilst running - anything over 14.5v at 3k rpm and its probably toast. Earthing to chassis isn't a problem . . . . . . unless it hasn't got any earth! Lights are delicate things and act like fuses with excessive volts or amps - everything else electrical is a 'bit' more robust! 3 Quote

johnr Posted July 3 Posted July 3 check your charging voltage before anything else. without a multimeter to confiem voltages youre just pissing into the wind. theyre a tenner, invest in one. youll never run an old suzuki without one. and of course it goes without question, check your earths!. 4 Quote

Thanx Johnr! Yep everything points to bad grounding or rectifier…But we’ll see! Quote
Reinhoud Posted July 5 Posted July 5 If the voltage is right at the bulb, how is your headlight bolted in? My GS had the problem it blew headlights one after the other, fixed it by suspending the headlight in rubbers.. Quote
SATANSAM Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 Sorted, got a bit of time and tested the thing. No filter when testing voltage going up to 35 and more. It was simply the rectifier. Thanx 4 the help amigos! 2 Quote
