imago Posted January 28 Author Posted January 28 This is still bubbling away in the background but it took a hit on the focus with all the upheavals last year. There's been a change of plan engine wise, and that in turn means it's going to have a full fairing. As I had to GSXR1000 engine for the RF project on the hydraulic table it allowed the opportunity for a test fit. The new plan is to fit a GSXR750 engine providing 140 fuel injected horses with a 40 kg weight saving. All of which puts me at the same power to weight as the air cooled was providing. The air cooled engine can then be used in a more appropriate setting. 6 Quote

Yes it is, had a kettle engine to start with, then a GS1000, time in Europe, re-imported, put on a 'Q' plate. Sat in a shed for years, sold on from a deceased estate, then bought by me. Is it the bike in your 2 Stroke pics? Quote
Triplesmoke Posted February 16 Posted February 16 Hi Yes that’s the same bike, it was my daily ride in the late 80’s, full TR spec engine. I’ve got the log book here somewhere, was KOT 113P. I was told it was 1 of 3 ever built. 1 Quote

I'm told that it went to Europe and when it returned in 1990 DVLA wouldn't return the original reg so it went on a 'Q' plate. This is it in the early '90s, I got the pic from the bloke who owned it at that time when he saw my post on facebook. 1 Quote
Triplesmoke Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I’ve spoken to that guy aswell. He’s building a bit of a special with a GT750 engine. The old reg is still’active’ as a Suzuki 1000, the same as yours ?? When I bought the Dresda I swapped it with a GS1000. Good luck with your project. 1 Quote

I presume that either the DVLA re-issued it, or more likely someone used the logbook when the Dresda went abroad. The V5 it's on now has the correct Dresda VIN, and the make is "Suzuki Dresda" so it's all in line with the bike and as it's properly registered on a 'Q' the insurance side is easier too. It didn't have an engine in it when I bought it as the GS motor had been taken out to use in something else. I was going to fit a GSX1100, but the most likely now will be a GSXR750 engine. There definitely won't be a Kettle engine going back in it though unless someone else buys it and does that. 1 Quote
Triplesmoke Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM Posted Sunday at 05:29 PM Glad you have correct title. Probably a good move to go 4 stroke. Just had to rebore my GT750 due to a carburettor float insisting on not. 1 Quote

If it had one in when I got it then I'd stick with it, but as it didn't have anything and its last engine was air cooled options were/are wide open. Quote
