1990 teapot K&N filter

Hi guys just a quick one, has anyone used or tried the k&n kit on a 750 teapot ( the one that fits inside the airbox , with the bigger air intake hole  ! )  I've got one in my spares pile and did fit it briefly when I first got the bike , but it ran like an absolute pig , but since proved the carbs weren't the best  , any tips ?  Cheers

Well not that i'm an expert, but if you fit a more freeflowing air filter than stock without touching the jetting of the carbs it will probably not run anything other than like crap ?

yeah what Joseph said,  some bikes don't like a free flowing filter unless you change jets or settings to suit.

The only vehicles you can just put a replacement k&n free flowing filter in is with fuel injection, as for the small increase of air the system can cope with it, carbs are a bit more fussy

So next question is has anyone got base settings ( jet sizes etc ) to get it somewhere near to get started , as it's only my work s#####r it's never likely to see a Dyno , just as I've got the filters sitting on a shelf I'd quite like to use them

I woluldn't bother messing around with that type of "mod" on that kind of "motorbike"

if it where mine I'd just fit an OEM filter and be done
