Swiss Toni Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 I’ve heard I can substitute the paper base gasket of the 1100ET/EX for the later metal gasket of the EFE. Is this correct, and is there any advantage? Quote
wraith Posted May 20, 2021 Posted May 20, 2021 Back in the old days when you could pick up the ET and efe engines cheep and easy to find, people use to put the efe top end on the ET bottom. So I would think you could use the base gasket. Quote

Is this correct, and is there any advantage? There is no advantage - actually the opposite to a lesser degree. The paper gasket deforms into the oil gallery to stud passage and can limit oil flow 'in extreme' cases. Whether it would be enough to cause significant restriction is debatable but Suzuki San changed to expensive metal for a good reason! Quote
Swiss Toni Posted May 20, 2021 Author Posted May 20, 2021 Cheers boys! There’s only about a fiver difference in the price. Quote
