Hariii Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 (edited) Good evening, does anyone know if the tacho from the suzuki gs 450 s or l will work on a GS 750? I have a plan in mind and it seems the tacho from the GS 450 has the same size as the tachometre from the GS 750 L. Cheers, Harald Edited January 18, 2021 by Hariii Wrong term Quote
richyrich Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 It will probably work but maybe give an improved speed , what are the part numbers for the drive ? How different can the gearing in there be Quote
Hariii Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Hey richyrich. Just to be clear, i don't mean the speedo (km/h or miles). I want to use the tacho (or rev counter?) from the GS 450. Not sure about the part numbers though. Quote

Hariii Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 God damnit, i used the wrong term. Sry for the confusion!! I always mistakes those two... To mak sure: i want to use the rev counter from a GS 450 on a Gs 750. The question is, if this will work? Cheers Quote
Dezza Posted January 18, 2021 Posted January 18, 2021 If the cable connection is the same (likely) then maybe. The gearing in the tacho drive may be the same as the 750 or maybe not. You'll have to try it to find out. From memory the early GSs have cable tachos but maybe some later models have electronic ones. Is this so??? Quote
Hariii Posted January 18, 2021 Author Posted January 18, 2021 Both are cable tachos, but that doesn't mean it will work. As you suggested, i just have to try it out. So i ordered the tacho and as soon as i have it, i will make some tests with a drill (both Suzis are currently partially into pieces). Quote
