bluedog59 Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Going by your intro, I think you already know if it's a viable project given the skills and resources you have available and it comes down to your personal outlay/work required balance. If all the other bits are good and the work is within your capabilities then something around that price could be doable. Those headstock welds don't need tidying up, they need grinding back until they're tack welds to hold it all together and redoing.
Matt1975 Posted January 17, 2021 Author Posted January 17, 2021 That was the plan have a fabricator mate at work and his tig welding skills are amazing.
bluedog59 Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 If you have the skills available round you, start haggling.
dupersunc Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 A mate bought a complete less engine Harris Magnum 2 for less than £2.5k 3months ago. Fucked if I'd pay £2.5k that pile. The engine, forks and swing arm might be worth a grand. The rest sounds like scrap. The frame looks ok at a distance.the welding looks poor because a lot of the fit up is wrong. If you can fix that, you might as well start from scratch and do it right first time. 1
spondonturbo Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 I think I would save up and buy a well made frame from known manufacturer. As it stands it is only worth the value of the parts when sold seperately. A complete running special sold for that a few weeks ago on a facebook site.
