Rikard Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 Hi all, I've been looking all over to find a service manual for my GSX, with no luck what so ever. I need to change most of the gaskets but have little to none experience with the enormous 16valve complicated engine. Anyone have some advice on how to find a workshop manual for this engine, please let me know! See also attached pictures. Quote
mark35gun Posted May 2, 2020 Posted May 2, 2020 welcome to OSS, remember to RTFR, you don't need a manual to swap out a few gaskets, they are not complicated even if inexperienced gsx 1100 manual will be the same for disassembly/reassembly, there may be some differences in cam/ignition timing and some torque values but broadly the same engine looks dry why the gasket swap? Rikard Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 THANK you so, so much, found everything I needed! You guy's are awesome. Just to clear things out, "RTFR" what does it mean? Quote
Rikard Posted May 3, 2020 Author Posted May 3, 2020 The engine has been terrorized by some former owner, the surface where the gaskets are supposed to seal seems to have been cleaned using a jackhammer... It's ok on the rear side but super oily in the front. Quote
