EFE tachometer wiring.

Does anyone happen to know what wires do what for an EFE tacho? I'm chopping a set up to mate to a bandit 1200 clock loom, and the EF tacho has a white, brown, and an orange. The white came through the back of the clocks and tied into the earths for the back lights. The B12 tacho has a black with white tracer, black with red tracer, and an orange with green.

Don't think the wires on the clock are original as from the manual they should be orange/green = ign sw. 12v, Black / yellow = tach signal from CDI and Black / white = ground / earth. The tach can often be black / red or red / black as in your 2nd photo.

2 sets here and both the same. The wiring from the multiplug down the loom is as you say. Clock internal wiring is different. Some matches the wiring in the main loom, some is different

Just gone through all the connections on my EFE clocks recently and this is what i found. And if my memory serves me right the white wire was spliced in to the black and white wire circuit. but the two others are 50/50 guesswork, but my educated guess is that Orange is positive feed.

Ive just been back out to the garage @ZenViking. The brown ties Into slot 5 on the clock multiplug. Your right, the white was tied to the earths for the back lights. Orange tied together with several others? so at a guess a switched live? And the brown the feed from CDI? Just starting on the Rioja before I get soldering :D
